Omiš is one of the most dramatically situated towns on the entire Dalmatian coast — a former pirate stronghold built at the point where the wild Cetina River breaks through a narrow canyon and empties into the Adriatic. Framed by soaring limestone cliffs, medieval fortress ruins, and the turquoise river, Omiš has a character unlike anywhere else in the region. It sits just 25 km south of Split, making it equally accessible as a day trip or as a base for exploring the Cetina canyon and the southern reaches of the Omiš Riviera. A pre-booked private taxi transfer is the easiest and most direct way to arrive.

Omiš is served by Split Airport (SPU), located approximately 30 km to the north-west. In normal traffic conditions, the journey by private transfer takes around 25 to 40 minutes — making it one of the shorter airport-to-destination runs on the Dalmatian coast. Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is a secondary option at approximately 115 km to the south, around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 40 minutes by private vehicle.
Your Go Shuttle driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign, assists with luggage, and takes you directly to your accommodation in Omiš or along the Omiš Riviera. Flight monitoring is included as standard.
For departures, the short distance to Split Airport means you do not need to leave unreasonably early. Your driver will confirm the ideal pickup time the evening before.

The Cetina River canyon is one of the most exciting adventure sports destinations in Croatia, offering white-water rafting, zip-lining, canyoning, and kayaking. Activity operators are based in and around Omiš, and many visitors need transfers to activity starting points or back to accommodation after a half-day on the river. Go Shuttle can arrange these local transfers at a fixed price.
Split is just 25 km from Omiš, making it a very easy day trip. The proximity means many visitors use Omiš as a quieter base and spend days exploring Split's Diocletian's Palace, the markets, the ferry connections, and the city's excellent restaurant scene. A private transfer to Split and back is a practical and comfortable option.
The Omiš Riviera stretches south from the town through a series of small villages and beaches — Duće, Ruskamen, Lokva Rogoznica, and beyond. Many visitors staying in these quieter settlements need reliable transfers to Omiš town for dinner or evening activities, and back again late at night. Go Shuttle covers the full Riviera area.
Omiš occupies one of the most striking natural settings on the Adriatic. The town sits at the mouth of the Cetina River, where the water emerges from a dramatic gorge cut through vertical limestone walls and meets the sea. For centuries, this geography made Omiš one of the most feared pirate bases on the Mediterranean — ships could retreat into the canyon and disappear, and the fortresses perched on the cliffs above made the town virtually impregnable.
Today those fortress ruins — Mirabella (Peovica) above the town and Starigrad on the hill above the canyon — offer some of the most spectacular viewpoints on the Dalmatian coast. The old town below is compact but full of character: stone lanes, a medieval church, good restaurants along the riverbank, and a beach where the fresh river water meets the salt sea in a way that is visible in the water colour.
The combination of sea, river, canyon, cliffs, and medieval history makes Omiš genuinely different from any other town on the coast. Add the adventure sports, the Klapa singing tradition (recognised by UNESCO), and its position 25 minutes from Split Airport, and Omiš makes an exceptional base for a Dalmatian holiday.
